Core concepts

The data model — ASIN, SKU, UPC, brand, seller account, organization, and member roles.

Before you dive in, here are the terms that show up everywhere in RankASIN. Each workflow section below assumes you know what these mean and how they relate to each other.

ASIN

Amazon's 10-character product identifier (for example, B0XXXXXXXX). One unit SKU has exactly one ASIN. A variant family — say, a moisturizer sold in three sizes — has a single parent ASIN with several child ASINs underneath it.

SKU

Your internal stock-keeping unit. Amazon ties your inventory and Business Reports to SKUs, not ASINs, which is why RankASIN stores both and lets you look up one from the other.

UPC

Universal Product Code. Every ASIN has a UPC associated with it. RankASIN stores both and treats either as a valid unique product identifier when importing listing reports, so you can match rows whether your CSV uses ASINs or UPCs.

Brand

A registered brand name in Amazon Brand Registry. A single seller account can manage multiple brands, and each ASIN belongs to exactly one brand.

Seller account

One Seller Central account on one marketplace — for example, "Knours US" on amazon.com. All of your ASINs, keywords, tasks, and reports scope to a seller account. Use the sidebar selector to switch between them; every page you open respects the current selection.

Organization

A team in RankASIN. Each signed-up user starts with a personal organization, and you can invite teammates into it. An organization can own multiple seller accounts.

Member roles

Every organization member has one of three roles:

FieldTypeRequiredDescription
ownerroleyesFull access: invite/remove members, change roles, delete brands/seller accounts, edit any data.
editorrolenoRead-write on ASINs, listings, keywords, tasks, reports. Cannot invite members or delete org-level resources.
viewerrolenoRead-only across the workspace.

Now head to the Getting Started guide to learn how RankASIN ingests Amazon reports and manages listing optimization.
